Heads up: the flat per-node rate is measured from 1 to 200 nodes and holds there. Above 400 nodes, treat results as an optimistic estimate.

Measured across 48 positions, comparing each day a validator actually ran against the network that same day, with uptime and penalty known. Median ratio to flat by size:

  • 1–9 nodes 1.07 · 10–49 1.09 · 50–99 0.99 · 100–199 1.02 · 200 0.97
  • No size penalty in that range, and the EVLS allocator gives none by design: it decrements a validator's weight after each selection, which makes allocation exactly proportional to node count.
  • Between 200 and 400 nodes, nothing has been measured.
  • Above 400, only five closed positions have ever existed and they came in 12–31% short — though one 500-node position matched flat exactly, and a shortfall there is indistinguishable from downtime.
How this is calculated. per node/day = demand cap ÷ network nodes, then your val/day = per node × your nodes, MNW = validations × reward, and APY = (per node × 365 × reward) ÷ 1,800 stake.
Below 95% uptime the period's rewards are forfeited entirely, not reduced pro rata.
  • APY is reward-token yield — MNW earned against MNW staked. It does not include MNW price changes.
  • Total validations are capped by demand, so adding network nodes dilutes everyone. The cake only grows if query demand rises above the cap.
  • Forfeited rewards are redistributed to the validators that did meet the requirement. A single long outage can take a whole staking term to zero — a far larger risk to these numbers than validator size.
  • Measured on a real 27-node position: 98.78% uptime earned a full share, so the threshold is 95%, not the 99% the 2024 whitepaper states.
